In 1987 Bob & Sue Grant, Richard & Sue Stone (already the owners of a successful plumbers merchants in High Wycombe) heard of the possible sale of a run down builders merchants in the centre of the town. One week after this they were the new owners! Renaming the business Grant-Milner Ltd. A year later the plumbers merchant was incorporated into the builders merchant and the company was renamed Grant & Stone Ltd.

1990 

Nick House was appointed a Director of the company and subsequently he became Chief Executive.

1994 

A decorators merchant was added as a complimentary service to what had now become a highly successful builders and plumbers merchant operation.

1996 

Graham Akers was appointed Financial Director and Company Secretary and the company expanded by purchasing a well established builders merchants in Chalfont St Peter. This branch has significantly added to the success of the company.

1997 

A plumbers merchant business was acquired in Aylesbury which continues to do well for the company. 

December 1999 

Peter Cudd, previously the General Manager was appointed a Director of the company.

March 2000

An electrical wholesale branch was opened on the Cressex Business Park in High Wycombe which to date is exceeding all expectations and is a great asset to the company.

September 2001

  Due to demand for plumbing & heating products at our Baker Street depot, and our commitment to customer service, it was decided to open a new dedicated plumbing and heating branch at the Wye Estate off the London Road in High Wycombe. This new outlet enables us to greatly improve our service to plumbing & heating customers, while at the same time, we will be able to dedicate more space and resources to the supply of building products from our Baker Street branch. We will continue to supply a range of painting & decorating from our Baker Street branch.

January 2002

Due to expansion of our business and our commitment to customer service, we have opened a new dedicated heavy side building branch at 54 Montem Lane, Slough.  This new outlet will enable us to greatly improve our service to new and existing customers, while at the same time, we will be able to expand our range of products and resources.
